I found a very old book called ‘The Stories of King Arthur’, which contains the story of Sir Gawaine, one of the knights of King Arthur’s Round Table. ‘The Lady of the Fountain’ is my interpretation of the lady in the legend who guards the sacred fountain and marries Sir Gawaine after he defeats the Black Knight.
“Sir Gawaine peered down the hall, in a lovely black and silver gown, he saw a most beautiful lady sitting with candles all about her.”
